Granger celebrates 63rd Cherry Festival

GRANGER — A fishing contest, carnival rides, live music and a parade are all part of the Granger Cherry Festival, a three-day event each spring. The 63rd annual event was held April 29-May 1.

Events typically begin Friday with carnival rides at Old Town Park.

Saturday’s highlight is the annual parade. Floats are judged in the morning. Local bands in the park and carnival rides are both a big part of the day.

On Sunday, a fishing contest at Hisey Park pond wraps up the weekend with prizes awarded for the biggest catch.
